I took my
family to get some hot chocolate yesterday. I was talking about aging and
maturing with my sons. They noticed that as they mature they have gotten
quieter and listened more to other people as opposed to being the ones always
talking in conversation.
Then as I was
talking to my good friend Ana, she mentioned she had read something about this interesting
topic, it’s an NPR article, so I looked it up. This is the part of the article that
stuck with me, “ As
we all live longer, there is a cultural shift toward more long-term thinking. What are you going to be like? What will your
hobbies be?' You know, 'Where will you be traveling?' If we simply imagined
such things, she says, we'd likely make all kinds of decisions today that would
make our real future selves
much happier “.
He visto fotos mías últimamente y pienso: " He cambiado.
Estoy cambiando . Me veo mayor .
siempre .
Dime que no soy la única!
I have found that ages that used to
seem old (like 40 or 50) do not seem old at all anymore. Are you ever surprised when you look in the
mirror? I don’t really look in a mirror except during my morning and not so
frequent evening routines. I notice my aging only when I look back at
photos, even recent ones. I have
seen pictures of myself lately and thought,
“I’ve changed. I’m changing. I look so much older. Who is that?” However, I also feel like the same
old me, in a good way. Tell me I’m not the only one!
Disfruta el dia!
Enjoy your Day!
